A Proud Father

March has arrived and Junior was so excited because in just 2 weeks there will be a St. Patrick's day party at his school. All the kids were encouraged to dress up and bake goodies for the festivities. Junior recruited his parents for help and while mom baked in the kitchen, Bob helped his son find the perfect costume. There was no question that suspenders and argyle printed socks would be part of the outfit. “How about a hat?”, asked Bob. “Yeah!”, screamed Junior but then added “Can I wear a bow tie like you, dad?” This warmed Bob’s heart. He was rubbing off on Junior and didn't oppose one bit.

Bob searched high and low for the perfect green bow tie for his son and after tying and adjusting it, he said. “Voila!” Junior ran to the mirror and said, “Wow this looks great! I can’t wait to show all my friends at school!” March 17th was here and Junior couldn't be any more excited to wake up and get dressed. Once he had his outfit on, he got his school belongings and was out the door with mom. Bob could not have been any prouder of his son.

Fun Fact About The Bow Tie!

Marv Beloff invented the wooden bow tie in 1993. He sells nine basic homemade styles and insists that the only things you have to worry about when you wear them are "termites and fires."

A Well Dressed Man Does a Job Well Done

The amount of snow that has been accumulating has forced Bob to work from home for some consecutive days now. Junior has been right by his side as his school had called for a few snow days as well. Some father-son bonding time without a doubt, he thought. Bob decided he could use this time together to teach his son about still being motivated to do good work although he is not in a work environment. Granted that Junior is still young, he’s still impressionable and whenever Bob can make a difference, he will always try. So Bob put on his best work clothes along with a nice bow tie and sat down at the kitchen table with his laptop in front of him. Junior walked into the kitchen and asked, “Dad, why are you all dressed up if you’re not going into the office?” Bob replied, “Well son, it’s important to still be motivated while doing work at home so this is a form of motivation for me. When I’m dressed nicely, I feel good about myself and when I feel good about yourself, I’m more enthusiastic about my day. That energy and enthusiasm can be translated into my work. That’s why I choose to dress like this while I work from home.”

Junior looked at him with a smirk on his face and turned around to leave the kitchen. He returned just minutes later in a pair of slacks and polo along with his own bow tie and sat right across from his father. Junior pulled out his homework and a pencil and began working. Bob had succeeded. He had succeeded in teaching his son about motivation. He admired that Junior was willing to trying something he’d never done before. It was the best “work from home” day Bob had ever had.

Valentine’s Day Butterflies

Valentine’s Day Butterflies

Valentine’s Day was just around the corner but Bob didn't fret. He had this holiday in the bag and knew that his wife would love every second of the day he had planned for her. But what Bob didn't know was that Junior was about to hit him with a little something he needed help with. It seemed as though throughout the last 2 months, Junior had developed a crush on his classmate, Kathy, and Junior wanted to give her a little gift on Valentine’s Day. He enlisted his father for some after school help because throughout the years, it was evident how successful Bob was at this particular holiday. The planning had begun and with the help of his father, Junior was able to get a box of chocolates, flowers, and a teddy bear for Kathy.

It was the morning of the 14th and Junior was as nervous as ever. Bob decided to give him a little speech saying, “Junior, you've got nothing to lose. You’re giving all you've got so you just have to be fearless and own it! Walk up to her with the confidence I know you have. She’ll love that!” And Junior took a deep breath and headed out the door. But before Junior had a chance to close the door behind him Bob promptly called out and said, “Junior! Hold on, I almost forgot something.” Bob had been saving Junior a bow tie of his very own from the Coleman A. Perry Collection and was hoping to give it to him one day soon and knew this was the right time to do so. “Here is a little something to boost your confidence”, and he tied the bow tie around Junior’s neck. “You can’t lose today, Junior. Good luck!”

Upon Juniors arrival from school, he greeted his father with the biggest smile on his face. Bob asked, “So I guess she liked it all?” and Junior replied, “Yes, she really did. Thanks dad!

A Run A Day Keeps the Stress Away

A Run A Day Keeps the Stress Away

Since we last heard from Bob, he was ecstatic to learn about his new promotion to his corner office and new title. He knew that his promotion would require a lot more from him but he may have underestimated it just a tad… or perhaps much more than what he originally thought. The work kept piling up and soon Bob was buried in files, documents, and everything in between. His stress level was through the roof and took frequent breaks just to avoid the madness. He tried everything from waking up early to get ahead of his work to dressing in his best suits to try and feel better but nothing seemed to be working.

There was, however, one solution he still had not tried: exercising! Considering it was a new year, Bob thought “Hey, why not?” He began doing a few minor cardio exercises and was soon able to run a few miles, relieving his stress day by day. BUT he did so with one notable accessory: his bow tie. It was his bow tie that reminded him it would be all worth it in the end and he was right.

Exercising had a tremendous effect on Bob’s stress levels and productivity and now work was no longer a nightmare for him. With the lack of stress, Bob was able to focus more efficiently and get through his work at a quicker pace. That huge pile of work was now just a few pieces of paper on his desk. He was proud of himself. He knew that giving up was not an option for him. Bob said believing in yourself is probably the best form of motivation.

Matching Clothes and Accessories with Bow Ties

Bow ties can give men an elegant look during formal events most especially if worn with a tuxedo. In black tie events, the only acceptable colors are black, silver or sometimes white. However, in some occasions such as a wedding event, other colors such as blue, pink, peach, etc. are also tolerable, especially if the color of the bow tie will match the motif. As an added detail to men’s suits, men can also wear a pocket square that should match the fabric used for their bow tie. This combination can look much better especially if the bow tie and pocket square comes in a more noticeable color and design.

New Year, New Bob

It's the New Year and that means another 365 days of opportunities. For Bob, this means that a potential promotion could be possible. Since he works for a very reputable company, acquiring a higher position would mean so much to him and his family. It was the week before promotions were supposed to be decided and Bob had accidentally made a mistake in one of his very important meetings. This wasn't an astronomical mistake but to Bob it was. He thought he ruined any chance he had to getting that promotion.

He went home that day and knew he had to fix the mistake he made. He stayed up all night going over and over in his head all possibly solutions. When the sun rose, he got ready for work and threw on his finest suit. He knew that him dressing better than ever before would give him the confidence he needed to face his boss and address his mistake. He took one hard look at himself in the mirror and was off to work. Once in the office, he marched into his bosses office and explained his mistake and how he fixed it. His boss must have been very impressed with Bob's work ethic and dedication to the job because within the week Bob was sitting in his corner office overlooking the city, higher than he's ever been before.

Mr. Cavalier

www.pvneckwear.com
Since the weather has been terrible lately, Junior recently had a snow day from school. Naturally a snow day means a play-date in the snow. This wasn’t going to be an ordinary play-date though. Bob promised Junior that they’d build a HUGE snowman out on their front lawn. The building began but Bob began to brainstorm. “What if we make this snowman not just an ordinary snowman, but a snowman that resembles one of us?” So while Junior played in the snow, Bob started piling snow into huge mounds where he’d later make them into big round snowballs.

The snowballs were packed and stacked, the buttons in place, the carrot smack in the middle of the snowmans face, and arms sticking out. Bob thought the top hat would be the finishing touch but after putting it on, he knew something was missing. “Junior, do you feel like somethings missing from this picture?” Junior replied, “Yeah, he needs something on top of his buttons. It looks empty.” Bob knew he needed to add something to make him look a little less ordinary and a little more cavalier. He went inside and dug through his accessories draw. He found the perfect PV Neckwear bowtie to add to this exquisite specimen that is their snowman. After placing the bowtie around the snowman’s neck and tying it, he was finally finished. The work of Bob and Junior has never looked so pristine.

Getting through the Holiday Hysteria

http://pvneckwear.com
Now that the holidays are coming Bob needs a fresh new suit to go with his P5 Neckwear bowie; whether it’s for work, friend’s events, or even at the family parties. The mall was his first thought so he went on over and to his surprise the mall was packed but soon remembered it was the holiday season. He didn’t stress. He knew he’d be able to find the perfect suit. When he got to his favorite store, he spoke to his colleague Charles, a fashion stylist and associate from the boutique. Choosing from an array of very fashionable and elegant suits, Bob had found his calling in a mid black two piece suit. This would work nicely with his bow tie. Charles knows Bob’s ritual; since Bob has a very demanding schedule, he considers his attire a priority and this store a mission. Every time he steps foot into the store, there is never anytime wasted.

Picking out the suit with ease, he heads to the fitting room. While wearing the suit, he hears a few men arguing outside about who got to their suit first so he decided to poke his head out. It wasn’t pretty. These two men were going at it so Bob knew he had to step in and said “Gentlemen! A P5 man would not behave like this.” As soon as they saw him, confident in his words and in his attire, the men each let out a gasp and quickly stopped to think about what Bob had said. One of the men had mentioned; “What do you suggest we do about the situation?” Bob replied “Sometimes you have to take a step back and ask how a man in his suit and bow tie would conduct himself. The answer: Carry yourself in a way that commands respect so that you have the ability to influence others around you. ” And just like that Bob had persuaded the men to carry on with their day, hopefully with a different outlook on things.

Did you know? (Bowtie Fact)

Because bow ties represent only three percent of all neckwear sales in America. With the majority of these sales associated with formal wear needs, many influential men, from Abraham Lincoln to Karl Lagerfeld, have chosen the bow tie as their signature accessory in order to make their look memorable.

Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion icon and has a huge following so he’s become very impressionable among those in the fashion world. Abraham Lincoln? Well he’s only one of the most influential people ever. He was the president at one point for crying out loud. When you’re confident the way these men were/are, you can do anything.
